Caring For A Newborn Baby

Tips on How to Take Care of Your Newborn Baby
Giving birth is one of the beautiful things a woman can experience. This is not just an experience but it is also a mark of the beginning of the new chapter of a life being a mother. Motherhood has many rewards but usually, mothers who gave birth for the first time would need some advices on how to properly take care of their new baby.
At an average, newborn children sleep for sixteen hours a day. After birth, the baby’s nervous system continue to develop so you can be sure that by three months he will start to sleep longer and at the right age, he can sleep for six hours at nighttime. Make sure to let Your Baby to sleep everytime he wants to.
Apart from sleep, newborn baby also need exercise. You can do this by massaging your baby. If you exercise your baby you can help him develop his control, muscle strength and muscle coordination. Have your baby sleep on his backside and softly bend his elbows and knees. Also move his limbs slowly. This gives a good bonding experience to both child and mother as well as develop baby’s muscles.
It is important to give your baby proper diet during his first months of life. They can have milk directly from their mother or baby formula. He should be given milk every few hours in the day. You will know when he is hungry if he gets fussy or by crying.
It is not recommended to bathe newborn baby everyday for it can cause their skin to dry. Sponge bath is recommended at the very beginning for it is a lot gentle and can upset the baby less. Make sure you clean the lines in your baby’s skin and diaper area too. Wrap one part of your baby’s body with soft towel so that he will not feel cold.
Taking care of your baby should be enjoyable. Do not be shy to ask other experienced moms for advices about caring for the baby. Also, you can ask tips about caring for new baby from your doctor.

Giving Superior Care For Your Newborn Baby: Vital Information To Help Parents In Caring For A Newborn Such As Advice On Newborn Baby Health , Newborn Baby Feeding, Newborn Bathing, Helping Baby Sleep Plus Lots More Tips To Care For Your Delicate Newborn $3.99 For a new mom, taking care of a newborn baby can be very overwhelming. Here are some great tips to help you through:You should start breastfeeding your newborn an hour after delivery. The breast milk produced in the first 3 days after giving birth is particularly healthy for the baby. Breast milk should be adequate food for the baby in the first 4-6 months of his life. This should provide him with sufficient nutrition and the right amount of immunity which his body needs. Newborn babies wake up when it is time for feeding and when he/she is wet and needs a diaper change. Other than these times, an infant is mostly asleep. If there is no immediate reason to wake up the baby, then you should see to it that your baby’s sleep is not interrupted at all. A baby who is fully fed can go to sleep on his own without much trouble. Most will just need to be laid down on the bed and can be left alone to sleep without being rocked or cradled. A newborn baby should be protected from extreme changes in temperature. It is important that the baby’s room temperature is comfortably warm and the air is clean and free from micro-organisms that will affect his health extremely. When choosing toys, make sure that they stimulate his senses and encourage him to explore and develop his motor skills. Educational toys will ultimately show each child’s personality. |

Martin Luther’s Christmas Book $10.99 Martin Luther’s conception of the Nativity found expression in sermon, song, and art. This beautiful book combines all three. In 30 compelling Christmas excerpts from his sermons, Luther vividly portrays the human realism of the Nativity: Mary’s distress at giving birth with no midwife or water; Joseph’s misgivings; the Wise Men’s perplexity; and Herod’s cunning.Throughout, Luther suggests the question: If we had lived in Bethlehem when Jesus was born, would we have believed that this newborn baby was God in human form? And he reminds us that keeping Christmas is a year-round mission of caring for those in need. Two of Luther’s beautiful Christmas carols are included, plus nine detailed woodcuts by Luther’s contemporaries, including four by Albrecht Durer. |

Speedy Relief For Baby Colic: Really Helpful Suggestions For Colic Remedies That Give Instant Colic Relief To Colic Babies So Your Baby Can Finally Stop Crying, Stop Being Fussy And Fall Sound Asleep $3.99 When a baby has too much gas in his stomach he feels pain and discomfort. This is the reason why a colicky baby never stops crying even during the daytime. Baby’s crying is his way to communicate his pain. The gas in his stomach irritates him, he cannot get uninterrupted sleep and therefore needs mommy to ease his discomfort for him.Caring for a baby with colic can really wear down your patience what with all the loud crying and lack of sleep. As a parent, you need to understand that your child is not feeling well. In order to help ease his pain and discomfort you will first need to understand what colic is all about and how it can be alleviated. An indication that your baby is colicky is if he keeps on crying. A normal newborn baby seldom cries, if he does it is because he needs to be fed or needs his diaper changed and when those needs are met he settles down again and falls back to sleep. Colicky babies, on the other hand, will cry for more than 3 hours at a time, if not every day, then at least 3 days per week. It is difficult to soothe him, in spite of tending to all his needs he still remains fussy and sometimes will even cause uproar until there is relief to his irritation. However, a wary parent will always take into consideration that not all the crying might mean that baby has gas. Colic has a set of symptoms and there have been many cases where colic has been wrongly diagnosed. If you feel that there might be other reasons for baby’s fussiness, you should never hesitate to consult with your pediatrician. |

The Journey of a Whale $17.28 Beautifully illustrated and with clear, simple text, The Journey of a Whale describes the life cycle and annual migration of the gray whale. Each double-page spread shows the whale at a particular activity during its journey from icy polar oceans to warmer seas — swimming with its pod or group, feeding on krill, spraying huge jets of water from their blowholes, or caring for a newborn calf. Anatomical features, such as baleen plates and tail flukes, are labeled. Readers learn that whales are mammals that live in the sea, and can be as much as 50 feet long and weigh up to 35 tons. During the fall migration, whales mate and the text explains how the baby whale will take one year to grow inside its mother, and how it will spend the winter feeding and growing strong for the next year’s migration. A Migration Map, glossary of Whale Words, and an index form an information section for children to practice reference skills. |

The Year My Son and I Were Born: A Story of Down Syndrome, Motherhood, and Self-Discovery $19.99 For most of her life, Kathryn Soper was like most people in one key respect: She hadn’t given any serious thought to the subject of disability. That all changed the day her son, Thomas, showed up with an extra chromosome. With six other children at home, Soper was prepared for the challenges another newborn would bring. But after Thomas’s complicated birth, his diagnosis—Down syndrome—forced her to face her deepest fears and weaknesses, her ignorance and prejudice, and her limitations as a mother and as a human being. Her struggle, coupled with the demands of caring for a fragile baby and juggling her family’s needs, sparked the worst depression she’d experienced in decades. In The Year My Son and I Were Born, Soper takes us along on her personal journey through Thomas’s tumultuous first year—as she strives to balance the loss of the child she thought she would have with loyalty for the baby she actually holds in her arms. Can she love Thomas for himself? Can she protect him from the world’s insensitivity—andfrom her own doubts?Ultimately, Soper escaped her downward spiral of despair and emerged with newfound peace. Antidepressant therapy restored her equilibrium, and interactions with friends and family brought needed perspective. But the most profound change came through her growing relationship with Thomas. His radiant presence shone through her outer layers of self, where fear and guilt festered, and reached the center of her very being—where love, acceptance, and gratitude blossomed in abundance. |
